Clark+Kensington Oyster Pearl

I used Oyster Pearl in the Clark and Kensington Paint and Primer in One Satin Enamel for my guest bathroom makeover!

Hi friends! I’ve completed my first painting project of the year. Didn’t take long, did it? 🙂

When we bought our house almost two years ago, the entire house, Every. Single. Room. including the garage, was painted builder’s beige. And honestly I don’t mind beige. I picked it for the main living area in my old house. But this beige was a little too orange-y for me. So I set out to paint every room.

Builder's Beige Guest Bathroom

In 23 months, I’ve painted all but three of the rooms of this house. Those rooms are the two guest bedrooms and the second bath. But that all changed this week as I gave the bathroom a fresh coat of paint!

I went to Ace Hardware and I picked out the color Oyster Pearl in the Clark+Kensington Paint and Primer in One Satin Enamel. {I was so ready to get rid of the flat paint in there!} The paint went on smooth and covered well. I did paint two coats, but I always paint two coats no matter what.

I already had my shower curtain for inspiration. I want to pull in some pops of color like yellows, pinks, maybe some reds. So I decided to keep the background pretty neutral. I love grays, and so Oyster Pearl looked like a great gray for this space.

When I started painting it on, it looked very blue to me. But I have learned while painting my other rooms, that when painting over beige, it tends to make grays look super blue until I have all of the beige covered up. So, I kept painting. After it was all painted and dried, it definitely has some blue undertones, but I am digging that. {You can’t really see the blue on the screen, but you can definitely see it in person.}

Beige to Gray: Before & After Guest Bathroom

I really love the color and I love it paired with my pretty shower curtain.

I can’t wait to share the rest of the room soon! I was playing with a yellow vase I have and some other decor items. And I have some old prints from my great-grandmother’s house that I’m going to frame and hang. Eeek! Another room is coming together!
