Hi friends! I’m excited to share the beginning of my Christmas decor this year. While I normally like to be all ready for Christmas before Thanksgiving, it’s just not happened this year.
I’m blaming it on the cabinets and the rain.
I’m supposed to be sharing my home tour this morning, but I have been rushing around trying to get these kitchen cabinets painted, spending time with family for Thanksgiving and getting the house decorated for my home tour.
(Do you see those little baby hand prints at the bottom of the chalkboard? I tried to hand the cards high enough, but Mama may be in trouble!)
I saved time for taking pictures until yesterday afternoon and it rained all day. It was so dark that you couldn’t even see to take pictures in my house. So, I’m praying that there’s a window of sunshine between now and Thursday to get these pictures taken!
Note: if you’d like to check out the home tours that are starting today, head on over to Lovely Etc. for the kick off!
I love my huge chalkboard in the kitchen and had so much fun decorating it last year with a little December countdown.
So, when I happened upon this countdown, or December Daily, I snatched it up! I’m not usually a huge pop-of-color girl at Christmas, but these are so cute! It’s a collaboration with Emily Ley, whom I adore, and Ali Edwards.
I love that we can turn a card over every day and be intentional about this holiday season. I’m looking forward to baking cookies, decorating a gingerbread house, taking something to someone less fortunate and so much more!
And I quickly doodled that chalkboard art at the top. I knew I wanted to do something with a laurel, and when I found this one, I knew I could free hand it pretty easily. (Click here for a free printable version.)
I don’t always take the time to make my chalkboard pretty, but when I do, I find myself staring it while I’m doing dishes or cooking supper. It just makes me happy!
I can’t wait to share more decor once the weather cooperates.
Happy Monday!
Don’t miss out on the behind-the-scenes fun!
