As a part of my Girls’ Bathroom Refresh, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect new lighting for over the vanity mirror. The light we currently have works fine, but it’s outdated, so I’d like to upgrade some something a little more modern.

I snapped this quick pic on my phone to show you what it looks like. The burned out light helps you see exactly what it looks like. 😜

The old light in the girls' bathroom

I don’t love the marbled frosted glass look, which would be an easy change, but it’s also polished chrome and I would like to go with satin nickel to match the bathroom hardware and faucet. Although I’m not sold on the satin nickel finish. I’m eyeing fixture aged brass of fixture #2. But maybe I will use those in my bathroom when we do a refresh in there. I just love that look!

The fixture I chose for my mood board for the girls’ bathroom refresh is #1, the brushed nickel milk glass schoolhouse light fixture. I still have a week or so to decide before I need to order it, so I’ll let it be a surprise which one I pick. 😋 Stay tuned!

  1. I recently upgraded my bathroom with some sleek and modern light fixtures, and the difference is incredible. Not only do they provide the perfect amount of lighting, but they also add a touch of contemporary style to the space. It’s amazing how a small change can make such a big impact!

  2. I just read your post and found it very useful. They look great, you can always rely on CFS! Your bathroom furniture is lovely too

  3. I’m a little confused, I thought your post said you chose #1 for your girls bathroom, but it is not brushed nickel. Typo, maybe? Anyway, there are some really nice options! Maybe it’s the teacher in me, but I LOVE the schoolhouse lights #1 and #9😍. I am so looking forward to seeing the finished bathroom, I love everything you chose for the mood board. It’s going to be beautiful💕🌸. I think bathrooms are the perfect place to experiment with fun colors we might not want to use as much in the rest of our house.

    1. Hey Vicki … the teacher in you is coming out in your attention to details. 😉😋 Just teasing you… yes! The #1 light is the same light I chose, but in a different finish. It comes in 3 finishes and my assistant and I thought it’d be fun to show a different color in our graphic. But I would choose the brushed nickel if I go with that light! The black and brass is just a little to retro for my taste. 😊 Thank you for reading!

  4. Definitely bookmarking this post. We are gutting ALL OF OUR BATHROOMS and adding another. Say Goodbye Seventies (if you know YAZ sing it with me!!). Anywho new lights all around. I love every one that you chose. I have some saved in Wayfair and Houzz and Pinterest. I definitely lean towards farmhouse and rustic.

  5. if you are going with the brushed nickel, I prefer #12 over #9 that you put on your board. The glass shades on #12 are more unique & modern for young girls & guests. I am not a fan of clear glass shades in the bathroom as I find it more glaring and dust is more visible so you might consider that if you decide on one of your other options.

    1. That’s funny you should mention #12, because it was the very first light I picked for the bathroom and then I changed my mind. But the pros would be that it won’t show dust and the lights will be easier to change. I still may choose that one, too! And good call on the “no clear glass” in bathrooms. I hadn’t thought about that. I also struggle with finding pretty light bulbs that give off the right colored light when I have a glass fixture. Something to consider! Thanks so much for commenting! xo, Laura
