The weather has definitely turned toward the warmer side here in the South, it’s actually quite early, but I’m not complaining. We have a few days here and there with lower temps, but my girls played outside in the sunshine all weekend, which makes me a happy mama!

Aren’t they just gorgeous?!?

But before you go traipsing off to see all of their goodness, let’s talk about some ideas for decorating YOUR spring mantel this month!

1. Florals. Duh. Obviously florals. I break out all things pink foliage when the calendar says February, because they are my fave! It’s almost always faux, unless Coach brings home a bouquet of flowers, which he does on occasion. I find my favorite faux florals at Hobby Lobby and Michael’s, most of the time.

2. Pastels – Bring in pops of colors with gentle pastels. {Blush is everywhere and the IT color, so this one is not hard!} I like to bring in my signature turquoise with some vintage mason jars. The candles in the antique mason jars are from Antique Candle Co. I love them and I shared more about them in my last Five Friday Faves. And obviously pink & greens are guaranteed at my house. But you could also add in some yellow, baby blue and lavender.

3. Gardening – I have never gardened in my whole life, but I sure do love a pretty flower, so I have much love for those who do! And I think it’s fun to incorporate some gardening details for spring. Just some simple, pretty gloves or a watering can. I saw the cutest gardening gloves in the Dollar Spot section of Target a few weeks ago and thought they would be so cute in some spring decor. I’ve also seen an adorable wreath made out of a water hose before. Just think outside of the box. (Get it? Outside? The {raised gardening} box? 😉)

4. A Bold Statement – I love having one main piece that anchors the mantel space. The perfect piece for spring is any type of window. Doesn’t an “open” window just scream spring? I’ve used my antique window before (see this old spring mantel) and this cathedral window in this year’s mantel was purchased in raw wood. And then I finished it with some stain and “distressed” white paint. It was the perfect addition this year. {Window distressing tutorial here!}

5. Fun Texture – As always, you’ll want to add interest to a display or vignette by bringing in some texture. Add some chippy corbel book ends or a tobacco basket. Any type of basket adds lots of cool texture and greenery is a perfect texture for spring as well!

I hope those tips were helpful for you today! Have fun decorating!!
