I know it’s not a Saturday, but I’m here to talk about one of my FAVE essential oils on the whole stinkin’ planet. It’s my BFF of oils. The one that Just. Gets. Me. You know what I’m talking about, right? {A bunch of my friends and I are talking about our favorite oils today, so be sure to check them out at the end along with an amazing giveaway, including Stress Away!}

I don’t think of myself as a particularly stressed out person, but I am a type-A, first-child, always-doing-a-project kind of girl. I love being productive and I love to just get things done. I’m a planner and some {my hubby} may even call me a bit of a control freak. So when things don’t go my way or I need to adjust my schedule {or my attitude}, there’s this little bottle of wonderfulness that is Stress Away.

The Amazing Uses of Stress Away Essential Oil Blend

Back in February, when I got my Premium Starter Kit in the mail, I immediately started sniffing all of the amazing oils. I’m sure everyone does this. I’d heard of Lemon and Peppermint, Lavender and Thieves. But I’d never heard of Stress Away. It was love at first whiff. It smelled like the beach to me, and I loooooove the beach. So that was a win. {It’s a blend containing lime and vanilla among other oils … yum!} And then I rubbed a little on the back of my neck and after a few minutes I felt a subtle relaxation come over me. A calmness, if you will. I’ve used it daily since that day. And I never, no never leave home without it.

A drop a day keeps the stress away!

It has an ever so subtle, but powerful effect on me. I find that if I use it every day, then I’m more likely to just roll with life and get less irritable about small things. When I forget to use it in the morning, I’ll be cooking dinner in the evening and wondering why I want to scream. Oh yeah, because I forgot my stress away.

{While I’m thinking about it, I’m going to go put some in the diffuser… Ahhh, much better!}

Stress Away for the Crankies

Up until recently, I’ve just been using it on myself, but I have a wonderful new use for it!

Summer is the season of travel for us. My hubby is a coach and a teacher, so we cram in a LOT of fun during the summer months. We’re either going to the beach, the lake or visiting family or friends. We pretty much live in the car. 🙂 My daughter is 3.5 years old and travels pretty well, but after so long in the car she gets a little over it, if you know what I mean.

A couple of weeks ago we were driving home from Atlanta and she was really cranky. I mean whining and crying and we could not figure out how to calm her down. So, I grabbed some napkins and dropped a few drops of Stress Away on them and stuck them in the air vents. Quickly the air filled with the sweet smell of lime and vanilla. And within 5 minutes Miss A was calm. Ahhh, sweet relief!

Diffuse Stress Away in the car for peaceful road trips!

{cotton balls are pictured here in the vents; I now keep a bag of them in the glove compartment}

About an hour and a half later, she was getting cranky again and we added a few drops to the napkins. Within minutes she was quiet and then I looked back and she was sleeping. Hallelujah!! Peace at last. 🙂 I’ll never go on a road trip again without diffusing Stress Away in the car. Never. #takethatcrankytoddler #nomorewhining

Stress Away Defined

Here’s how Young Living describes Stress Away …

Young Living’s Stress Away™ essential oil blend is a natural solution created to combat normal stresses that creep into everyday life. Stress Away is the first product to contain the unique stress-relieving combination of lime and vanilla pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils. Stress Away also includes copaiba and lavender to reduce mental rigidity and restore equilibrium. Featuring powerful plant constituents, such as the cedrol found in cedarwood and the eugenol that occurs naturally in vanilla, Stress Away can help induce relaxation and reduce occasional nervous tension.

Note of caution: Avoid direct sunlight and UV rays for up to 12 hours after application.

8 Amazing Ways to Use Stress Away

  • Apply a drop to your hand and pet your dog or horse to calm stress and anxiety.
  • Use a roll-on fitment an apply to the wrists and the back of the neck for a calming effect.
  • Add a few drops to a cotton ball and place in the car vent for a peaceful road trip.
  • Diffuse with Peppermint in the afternoon to uplift and unwind.

The many uses of STRESS AWAY

  • Mix 10 drops with 1 cup of Epsom salt in a warm bath and soak for 20 minutes to relax.
  • Use by itself or combine with Lavender in the diffuser to promote a good night’s sleep.
  • Diffuse in the car for a tension-free commute to work {and less road rage!}
  • Add a few drops to water and sip throughout the day to feel relaxed and focused.

    I can’t decide!! I’m leaning toward Frankincense since it’s so pricy it’s not one I would normally buy for myself, BUT peace & calming and lavender have been on the top of my list for awhile!

    Thrives or lavender or lemon?! I really don’t know! I’ve been looking at all the uses for these, and I’m a bit overwhelmed…. Something useful and still safe around my baby and me while I’m nursing?

      There are some precautions to take while pregnant and nursing, and probably not good to put EO’s on babies for a while. I’m pregnant and have found a lot of guidance from the book called Gentle Babies by Debra Rayburn. You can get it on Amazon. Some EO’s that are very gentle are lavender and frankincense. Let me know if I can answer any questions for you!
