Have a Refreshing Summer Gift Idea
I’m obsessed with all things citrus: lemon, tangerine, lime, grapefruit, orange.
Whatever.
I’m not picky. If it’s citrus, I’ll take it.
I heart it so much that you may see it pop up in my summer decor. {Check out my lemonade stand summer mantel HERE!}
So, when I started thinking about a gift for my daughter’s preschool teachers, I thought it would be cute to give a stainless steel cup with their monogram and a cute lemon vinyl decal. Why a stainless steel cup? Well, I’ve been trying to move way from plastic and I’ve been wanting a SS cup myself.
Do you like the cute little printable tags to go with them? I am sharing the free printables with you today!
I stopped by Starbucks since I knew they carried them and picked up three: 2 for them and 1 for me. 🙂 OK, so I splurged a little. (You can find them on Amazon, too.)
I created their monograms in my Silhouette using the Monogram KK font. If you want all the details on how to create a monogram with your Silhouette and how to cut vinyl, then check out this tutorial.
Since I was applying the monogram to a non-even, cylindrical surface I did not overlap the monogram initials. Instead I moved them close to each other, but not touching. If I had overlapped them, then the vinyl would have bubbled and it would have looked like a mess.
I applied transfer tape on top of the monogram and then pulled the backing off. Then I applied the monogram to the cup, starting from the middle and then pressing it down as I moved to the sides.
See how the sides of the transfer tape above the “W” in the last picture is closer to the top than the transfer tape above the “P”? Once you pull the transfer tape off, you won’t really notice that it’s not perfectly even.
And then it was time for the cute little lemon! I bought this design from the Silhouette store.
I cut out the outer design in a darker yellow and the middle of the lemon in a lighter yellow. I combined them into one design by applying the transfer tape to the outside design first and then the middle.
Now it’s ready to place on the cup. Isn’t the little lemon so adorable? I’m obsessed, I tell you!
Then I added these cute “Have a Refreshing Summer” tags, which I’ve included here for you to print and use yourself!

Add a little raffia bow and you’re done! So simple and cute.
But I didn’t stop there. I added something fun inside, check it out HERE! I think it’s adorably refreshing!
