Living Room Makeover – Part 4: Blue Accessories

|

So, I bet you’re wondering just how many updates on this living room makeover we’re going to have. Well, they may just go on forever? But hopefully not. 🙂 I know I have at least one more thing to share, maybe two, before the big reveal. So hang tight and we’ll get there!

I did finish the board and batten last Wednesday night. Or rather Thursday morning, because it was 2 a.m. when I cleaned out the final brush. I was headed to bed Wednesday night and decided instead to tackle the last few coats of paint. I’m so glad I did because we were able to get the living room back in order before we went out of town this past weekend. It was lovely! And I’m loving the look. But I’ve still got a few finishing touches to get done before I share it all with you.

If you follow me in instagram {@turquoisehome), then you saw this picture a couple of weeks ago …

blue vases and blue lamps

I had an awesome trip to Target that day. You see, I’d been searching for those turquoise vases for a while now and I knew that there might be a few left at a Target 30 minutes from my house. One day while out in that area, I stopped by just to check and see if they had them in stock. I was so bummed when I didn’t find them on the vase aisle. I kept wandering, though. And finally stumbled on the most awesome clearance aisle ever!! Tons of items from the Target’s Modern Cottage Home Decor Collection were 50% off! Big time score! I’d been eyeing the lamp bases and the vases since January and was so excited to pick them up at such a great discount.

So, I’m super excited to show you how I used them in my living room makeover. I took away some of my decor items and flanked the TV with the two lamps. I love that it is simple and that it brings a pop of color into the living room. The lamp bases are very similar in color to my dining room and kitchen walls, so it brings the color throughout the open space. I’m loving it!

And then I spruced up the mantel with a few items I’ve had for a while, plus the blue vases. I adore the pop of color it brings to this wall. I think it’s still a simple mantel for spring, but not too simple.

You can find my original spring mantel post about my floral arrangement here. I had the little bird in my stash. He’s from Target several years ago and I love him just as much as the day I brought him home. Yes, he’s a he. :). The punched ceramic thingy is from Michael’s a couple of months ago (40% off! whoop!) and the candle and candle holder are from IKEA.

And then I just got these blue beauties in the mail this week. I adore them, especially paired with pink carnations.

And here’s the good news … you can purchase your own set of Ball® Heritage Collection Blue Pint Jars here! These limited edition jars were made to celebrate 100 years of mason jars. I quickly snatched my set because I love, love, love the color … of course.

And just a couple more of the eye candy. It’s so cheery in the morning to wake up to blue jars and pink flowers.

Do you have any blue jars or accessories? I can’t seem to get enough of them!
