We slept in a little on Saturday… ’cause we were sooo tired from the day before. The wedding celebration was that night, so we had just originally planned to stay in Brooklyn. But I didn’t get to go to a couple of places that I’d wanted to the day before. You’re not in New York every day, so we decided to head back to Manhattan and hit up the stops we’d missed.
First stop: Purl Soho
This little store has an online presence as well and I have looked at their fabrics online before. I decided to check them out since we were close by. They have the nicest employees, so helpful. And the prettiest store! It was probably the highlight of my day. I bought a few half yard pieces for a special project in Miss A’s room. (I can’t wait to finally get that room finished … still need a trip to Atlanta to get my IKEA Expedit shelves. Hopefully next month!)
Next stop: Times Square. So touristy, but I had to go.
And one last stop of the day before the wedding … the Brooklyn Flea Market.
I told Josh that I could move to Brooklyn after this stop. What an awesome flea market. I could have bought everything in this place!
I wanted that cow photo in the white frame so badly. But I know I can probably find one on etsy. I love cow photos for some reason … probably because my grandparents live in a farm and raised cattle for a long time.
This flea market was amazing. I wish I had brought another suitcase in order to take home so many of the treasures. I also got some ideas for making things. I just loved walking around the fun antique finds. Pure wonderfulness.
That night we had Josh’s cousin’s wedding reception, which was the main event, and the reason we went to NYC in the first place. It was a great night of good food, drinks and dancing. I didn’t take my camera, so we only got some fuzzy iPhone pics.
Sunday morning we got up and headed to the airport to go pick up our little girl in Nashville. She stayed with my parents all weekend long. Thanks Mom and Dad! She had such a good time, but we were so glad to see her again.
