The Paint Colors in my Home
One of the most common questions I get asked is “What is the paint color in that room?” I love sharing these colors with my readers because I think they are fabulous paint colors that would look good in anyone’s home!
And when you find a good paint color for your home it can make all of the difference in how you feel about your space. So, here we go!
This post was originally written back in 2014, but it’s been updated to reflect the latest colors of the rooms and some new rooms I’ve painted!
I wanted to put all of the answers to “what color is that?” in one place to make it easier on you. And maybe you’ll find a new color that you love right here on this list!
Living Room & Entry Way Paint Color – Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore
Our living room and entry way space are both painted Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore. (See more living room posts here and more entry way posts here.) My living room walls are definitely the most showcased walls in my home. It’s actually two colors with the board and batten, but most people want to know, “what is that gray color?” (The white is Simply White by Benjamin Moore.)
It is one of the most popular gray colors, and for good reason. Revere Pewter is a wonderful neutral taupe-y gray that doesn’t lean green or blue. It’s just gray with a little hint of taupe, which I love, because it pairs perfectly with warm and cool colors.

- Mindful Gray by Sherwin Williams
- Edgecomb Gray by Benjamin Moore

Dining Room Paint Color – Wythe Blue by Benjamin Moore
Our dining room paint color is Wythe Blue by Benjamin Moore. {See more dining room posts here.} I chose this color first for the new house based on a photo of a gorgeous front door. I fell in love with that front door and knew I would have to have this gorgeous, sophisticated blue/green beauty in my home. I wanted guests to see it when they walked in, so I painted the dining room with Wythe Blue, which is just to the left of the entry way. It pairs so well with the Revere Pewter in the adjoining entry way and living room.

Kitchen Paint Color – Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams
Our kitchen started out in a darker blue/green paint color called Stratton Blue. It’s a little darker than the Wythe Blue in the dining room and I just picked the color when we were moving into the home to break up all of the beige. It had beige walls and beige cabinets, so I needed some color. {See more kitchen posts here.}
But fast forward a few years later and I painted the kitchen cabinets Simply White by Benjamin Moore (my go-to white!) and the color was just too dark.
I picked out the two colors that I thought I wanted and posted about it here. And Sea Salt won out! I fell in love with the color. It’s such a soft pretty green/blue that compliments my Revere Pewter in the next room so well. The two colors meet in the doorway of the kitchen, so it was imperative that they looked good right up next to one another.

Master Bedroom Paint Color – Palmetto Gray by Porter Paint
Our master bedroom paint color is Palmetto Gray by Porter Paints. {See more master bedroom posts here.}We (my mom and I) painted the master bedroom as one of the very first projects we did before my family moved into this house. The color was one of my best friend’s favorites from high school back when we were obsessed with finding the perfect “robin’s egg blue” paint color. {My love of all things turquoise started early.}
But this was a more muted gray/blue/green than the robin’s egg we were after and we both still have rooms in our homes painted this pretty color. {This paint color is discontinued, but Restoration Hardware’s Silver Sage is a close match.}
To be honest, my photos read a little bluer online than in real life. In person they have a touch of green/gray and are a little more muted.
Nursery Paint Color – Lido Green by Benjamin Moore
Our sweet baby’s girl’s nursery is painted Lido Green by Benjamin Moore and was such a fun room to decorate! {See more kid’s room posts here.} I chose the color scheme from the adorable animal singing art above the crib and tried out a few paint colors before I settled on Lido Green. It definitely pulls more green than any of the other mint or aqua colors in my home. And it’s perfect for a fun, fresh little nursery!

Girl’s Room Paint Color – Cream Puff by Benjamin Moore
My older daughter’s room is painted Cream Puff by Benjamin Moore. {See more kid’s room posts here.} It’s the perfect sweet, pale pink without being too much. Today the room looks almost nothing like it does in the picture below, but the one thing that has always been constant is the wall color. She and I both agree that we love it and it’s staying for as long as we have a say-so in it!
Guest Bathroom Paint Color – Oyster Pearl from Clark+Kensington
This is a pretty gray color, but I don’t love it for this bathroom, honestly. {See more bathroom posts here.} The gray cabinets and adjoining gray hallway kind of put a damper on this bathroom. I’m probably going to paint it Sea Salt like the kitchen. Then it will be light and bright!
Office & Guest Room Paint Color – Simply White by Benjamin Moore
My office paint color is simply white by Benjamin Moore. {See more office posts here.} I find it to be the perfect creamy white that doesn’t read yellow. I wanted my colorful decorations to pop on the walls – and they do. I also thought it would make a good backdrop for pictures.
Laundry Room Paint Color – Wythe Blue by Benjamin Moore {tweaked}
The laundry room is a space I’ve never officially revealed, so you may not even know we have one. 😉 Just kidding, of course! But I’ll share it even thought it’s not official.
Our laundry room is a walk-through laundry room and it’s our entrance and exit to our garage, so our main entry way in our home. I know I wanted to keep the room bright and cheery since we don’y have any natural light in there and I walk through the room a bajillion times per day.
So, I took some leftover Wythe Blue paint and mixed it with white to get this color! It’s closest color match is Palladian Blue by Benjamin Moore.

Thank you so much for sticking with me until the end of this crazy long post about paint colors. Who knew there was so much to share?
If you noticed, the colors in my home are very similar to one another in the blues and grays, except for the one pink. 😊 I heard a designer say once that if you find a wall color that you love, then it’s OK to paint every wall in your home a variation of that color. So, I took the advice to heart. 😉
I hope you found a new favorite color! Let me know if you end up using one – send me a pic!

What is the color in the picture with the “EAT” sign?
Hi Jake! That is Stratton Blue by Benjamin Moore. Thanks!
Hi Laura~
I love your home but could never achieve the same: there are just three of us but the other two are a man who does dirt work and a 15 year old boy (’nuff said!). ANY white – especially kitchen cabinets – is out!
With a ceramic tile floor in a light gray, if I used your Sea salt in my kitchen, what color would you recommend for cabinets? They’re a piney-green currently but I don’t like them with the new floor. Also, our counter tops are a dark brown granite. (It’s a rental so some things are not changeable.)
I was hoping to NOT go blue, but that’s all I can envision and I thought you might have a brilliant idea!
Love your blog! Thanks for your inspiration!
Hi there!
If you don’t want white cabinets, I would probably do a medium to dark gray color or a navy blue. Hope this helps! Good luck!
I am struggling with paint colors. I have a very open concept with adjoining sunroom.tv and dining room. Revere Pewter was suggested to me but when I first put it on a very small area it did not seem right. High ceilings and semi-dark birch cupboards. I am adding an island that will be stained simple white on the birch. My couch set is the real problem as it is multi beiges with a little bit of dark chocolate. Right now I have spice rum everywhere except the main bath which is a cement grey that I love. I really want a softer lighter color for the open spaces.
I tried attaching photos but it isn’t loading!!
Maybe try Edgecomb Gray? It’s a little lighter than the Revere Pewter! worth a try!
I dolike your choice! Avery beautiful house!
Hi! We are getting ready to paint our living room this weekend, and I am leaning toward Revere Pewter after a friend used it in her house and I saw your pictures here. Just one question, though. You mentioned in one of your posts that you color-matched your posterboard paint samples at Lowe’s to BM’s Revere Pewter. Did you also use color-matched Lowe’s paint when you did the walls? We live very near Lowe’s and try to color-match there whenever we can because it is so convenient, but I want to be sure we’re getting the color that you did or something very close to the original. I’d love to hear if this worked for you or if you actually used Benjamin Moore paint. Thanks! Love your home and may copy several of your colors in our new home and be done with my paint indecision! 🙂
I really like neutral colors but I love the color red to pop things out. I have one piece of red furniture in my kitchen, a cupboard. What wall color would look good with my pops of red I want to keep in my kitchen?
Thank you so much for your wonderful blog! I am looking for those exact living room curtains, could you please tell me where to find them? Thank you!
Hi Tracy, I wish I could give you a link to those exact curtains, but I stenciled a plain curtain to creat them. See the DIY post here —>>> https://theturquoisehome.com/how-to-stencil-curtains/. But over the years I’ve found some very similar. Check these out —>>> https://rstyle.me/n/cwyhvyx85w and https://rstyle.me/n/cwyhwmx85w (affiliate links) I hope this helps!! xo, Laura
Hello! Any turquoise bedroom colors?
I have a green/blue color in my daughter’s bedroom. It’s Lido Green by Benjamin Moore!
I love Revere Pewter and I think I’ll be using it in my house together with black doors and white trim. Can you tell me what colour your trim is?
It came with the house, so I don’t know exactly. But when I painted the board and batten in my living room, I chose Simply White by Benjamin Moore and it looks the same as the existing trim. Hope this helps!
I have Revere Pewter in my house too! I love your color palette… and will probably be stealing a few. 🙂
Steal away, Emily! 🙂
This is so helpful. I wish people would do this all the time. Great colors! Wonderful color sense… 🙂
You’re smart to list all your colors in one post! I share your love of Revere Pewter and Wythe Blue. 🙂
Those two are at the top of my list! Enjoy your time on vacation!!
This info is so helpful! I love knowing the paint colors of the rooms. It makes shopping for paint a little easier. 🙂
I really love your taste in paint colors! They’re calm yet have tons of character. I can see why you get so many questions about this from your readers. Thanks for sharing this with all of us!
Aww, thanks so much Carrie!
