Ingredients

  • cups sugar I like pure cane sugar for larger granules, but any sugar will do.
  • 8 oz. almond oil or grapeseed oil
  • 30 drops of lemon essential oil (I only use Young Living essential oils!)
  • 4 - 8 oz. wide-mouth glass jars with lids

Instructions

  1. Wash your jars before you fill them with the scrub. I like to make sure they are nice and clean.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar and oil.

  3. Mix it with a spoon or fork until it reaches sand-castle building consistency.

  4. Add the Lemon Essential Oil and stir until mixed well.

  5. Store the mixture in air-tight glass jars.

  6. Liberally apply to hands and rub in for a few minutes, then rinse with warm water, leaving your hands soft and glowing!

  7. Please note: Citrus essential oils are photosensitive, so always apply sunscreen after use if you will be out in the sun.

Recipe Notes

  • I like pure cane sugar for larger granules, but any sugar will do.
  • You don't just have to use lemon essential oil. Pretty much any essential oil that you love {and can be used topically} would be great for this scrub. Well, there are some that would be kind of smelly. Like an oregano sugar scrub might not be the best choice, but I'll let you decide. 😜
  • Citrus essential oils are photosensitive, so always apply sunscreen after use if you will be out in the sun. Or just use it before bed at night.
  • It's important to use glass jars because the citrus oils will eat away at plastic.
