October is here, and this is when fall finally begins to feel real to me, even if the Alabama temperatures don’t always agree! (But the crisp mornings sure are lovely!) Our fall schedule is always so busy, so I love decorating in a way that can carry our home all the way through Thanksgiving.
Instead of changing everything every few weeks, I start with a cozy fall foundation: warmer colors, soft blankets, natural textures, pretty branches and a few pumpkins. Then I can add a touch of Halloween for the girls or make small changes for Thanksgiving without starting over.
If you haven’t decorated yet, or your home still feels like it’s missing something, don’t feel like you need to tackle every room. (Save your energy for Christmas, like me. Ha!) Choose one gathering space, add two or three seasonal layers and let that be enough. A cozy home is created one thoughtful detail at a time.
