Lavender Bath Salts

Are you a bath person? I think everybody is either a bath person or not a bath person. I’ve tended to be a non-bath person, but I think that may just be because I don’t have time or take the time to take a bath. I even have a jacuzzi in my house.

Homemade Lavender Bath Salts

So, recently I’ve been exploring healthy, natural health solutions. And I’ve been reading up on different toxins in most everything I consume. This has led me to start using coconut oil for moisturizer and I just made some homemade body butter to use for lotion. I like knowing what’s in the products I’m using. I’ve still got a long way to go in replacing them all, but you gotta start somewhere, right?

Lavender Bath Salts

So, I decided to try  making my own bath salts. Evidently epsom salt baths are great for detoxing the body and I know that Lavender has many benefits!  It was super easy and only used three ingredients.

3 Simple Lavender Bath Salt Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need:

1 cup of Epson salts {I bought mine at Walmart for $3 for 4 lbs.}
1 tablespoon of baking soda
10 drops of essential oils {I only recommend Young Living Essential Oils.}

Mix the ingredients together in a bowl and store in an airtight, glass container. I found my little half-cup glass jars at Hobby Lobby, but you could use any glass container.

Pour 1/4 of a cup of salts under warm, running water. Soak and Enjoy! {Use 1/2 a cup in larger garden tubs.}

The Amazing Benefits of Lavender Oil

I have used them once since I whipped up this batch of bath salts and it was fabulous. I just love my Lavender oil. Did you know the Lavender is also great for soothing cuts and burns or easing the pain of cold sores? Yep, it’s great!
