    Simple Gift Wrapping Ideas

    This is a super easy and simple way to dress up a gift this Christmas. It only takes a few minutes to create cute, customized wrapped gifts for friends and family!

    Simple Gift Wrapping Ideas

    I made a pretty wild confession in my Christmas mantel post earlier this week. I shared the crazy admission that I don’t always have the time or energy to DIY everything. While yes, DIY is awesome and you can {many times} get better results while spending less money, let’s face it, no one can DIY everything.

    But this year I’m tackling an area of Christmas preparation that I’ve never DIY’d before: Gift Wrapping. So, I may not have made my Christmas pillows this year, but I’m adding a little somthin’ somethin’ to my presents. 🙂

    Simple Gift Wrapping Ideas

    When it comes to wrapping presents, I’ve been a throw-it-in-a-store-bought-bag kind of girl. Or I would wrap it in regular ol’ store-bought paper and throw on a store-bought bow. I always admired the whole fancy, schmancy pretty {and amazingly} decorated packages. But to be honest, I never planned far enough in advance to get crafty with my wrapping.

    10 Ways to Customize Your Home on a Budget Guide Button

    Enter my Silhouette Cameo. I now look 100 times craftier than I really am, and I love it!! {You can get one for a great price right now through Dec. 8 … I’ll remind you of all the details at the end.}

    Simple Gift Wrapping Ideas

    So the other day when I was flipping through the newest issue of Country Living, when I came across the cutest wrapped gifts. They were simply wrapped, but had deer silhouettes on them and were tied with jute. And I just knew I’d have to put my new favorite crafting tool to work and make some of my very own. You got a preview in my Christmas home tour, but I wanted to just share how easy this can be!

    It really doesn’t even need a step-by-step tutorial, because you’re just wrapping gifts. But adding a little twist. If you don’t have a Silhouette machine, you could just use a craft punch like this one from Martha Stewart’s craft line.

    Here are the simple tools I used:

    Pretty wrapping paper supplies

    1. Wrapping paper. {I loved using kraft paper found in the party section of Hobby Lobby. And I found the plaid paper at Target. Cause I’m obsessed, you know.}
    2. Tape – regular and double stick
    3. Scissors
    4. Fun Christmasey scrapbook paper and some 8.5×11 kraft paper
    5. Jute, twine and green yarn stuff {from the OnlineFabricStore.net booth at Haven. Thanks ladies!!}
    6. Optional: Silhouette cutting machine. Or you could use a craft punch or just cut out shapes by hand.

    Silhouette Shapes

    I used this deer silhouette and some snowflakes from the Silhouette Online Store. {ALL shapes are 50% off through Sunday, Dec. 8!}

    Simple Gift Wrapping Ideas

    And then I just cut them out of my scrapbook paper with my Silhouette Cameo. I used my glue stick to attach them to the wrapped gift and wrapped some twine or yarn around it and I was done! So simple and easy. And depending on when my gifts get to my house this year, I may or may not wrap all of my gifts like this. Ha! We’ll see how much time I have. 🙂 The pressure’s on, though!

    Silhouette Sale!

    Just a reminder that these amazing deal bundles are still available at Silhouette until Sunday, Dec. 8! This is their biggest sale of the year, so if you’ve been debating about getting one of these awesome machines, then now’s the time to do it!

      I’m SUCH a sucker for a pretty package – I think I might like that even more than what’s inside sometimes. I got that from my mama (oh do I miss her!) she always packaged stuff up so beautifully and creatively. You sure did a great job! So fun!

      These are so cute!! I’m part of your silhouette group and saw you posted. I want all my packages under my tree to look like these. 😉 This gives me a lot of great ideas to do! Plus I already have to machine so it should be pretty easy.

      Love it! I usually try to get fancy with my wrappings… sometimes it works, sometimes it’s a disaster! But this is totally do-able, and seemingly disaster-free! I love kraft paper, too! It works year-round, and is super easy to dress up!
