Fall is Comin’: Decor and Crafts

While I know it’s still hot as blazes outside, I am banking on the fact that Fall is right around the corner. And I’m kind of ecstatic about it.

What does Fall mean to you?

For me, it’s cooler air (duh), chili on the stove with cornbread muffins, all things pumpkin, football Saturdays {and Fridays, Sundays and Mondays}, the pumpkin patch and hot apple cider.

It’s easily my favorite season to anticipate and celebrate.

I do love summer, because I love being near the water, which is pretty much the only time I enjoy being outside when it’s so hot. {Down here in north Alabama, it’s rather soup-like outside from May until September.}

Crunchy leaves, bonfires, roasted marshmallows and the beautiful leaves.

School starts back today for Miss A, so now that she and Coach are both back to their regular schedule, it really feels like Fall will come quickly. While our pool is still open and it’s hot enough to swim, our days of going every time it was sunny outside are mostly over. We may sneak in a few more days at the pool or weekends at the lake, but they will be only a hand full more.

As I’m gearing up for Fall, my mind drifts to how I’m going to decorate for the season. And because it is my hands-down favorite time of the year to decorate, I wanted to go back and take a look at some of my past Fall decorating.

Last year I loved pairing the apple green the with traditional orange and brown hues. I maybe see if I can find a way to bring in another less traditional, but very much loved, color this year.

I also decorated my dining room and entry way and shared those in my Fall Home Tour. I loved it as it was probably my favorite home tour ever.

Then I decided to make some “scrappy” pumpkins from leftover fabric. And they turned out so cute! I have some extras and may be selling them during an Instagram flash sale soon, so be sure to follow along for that!

And just for fun, let’s take a look back at the first Fall mantel I did in this house. Really, it was my first Fall mantel ever. :)

I shared my tutorial on how to create the no-sew bunting, as well, which hung from my inaugural Fall mantel.

Now, if this post is a little too much for you on this super hot day, then just keep on moving. But if you’re like me, then you are already collecting ideas and making plans for how to decorate your house for the upcoming season.

    I was so happy to see whose blog this post was from. I always loved your blog. Had pc problems in Spring for over 2 months so lost so much.
    I Love your pumpkin on the piece of wood. Gives me ideas to start some Fall decos. It’s still hot here (western CO) but I get the itch for Fall as it’s one of my very favorite times of year. Love the colors and all the gorgeous delicious things that go along with Fall. Hope all is well with you and yours. Happy to find you again. Your mantel photos really inspired me also. I love to make banners. Happy days

      Thank you!! It doesn’t feel like summer will ever end over here. Let me just say that being pregnant and walking around in 90 degree heat is not for kicks and giggles. :) I’ll be glad when it’s down to 70 degrees and below. Ha!

    This is such beautiful decor!! I’m excited for fall too, and to decorate my house for it! I so wish I had a mantle to decorate, but our fireplace is one with our tv above. Such a bummer! Visiting from Create Link Inspire. :)
