I wish I had grabbed some small American flags and placed them in the topiaries in my planters, but maybe I’ll add those next year. You could use this wreath for Independence Day, Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day or anytime you’re feeling especially thankful for living in the land of the free!

Instructions for Making a Patriotic Wreath

1. Gather Your Materials

Before you get started, you’ll need to gather all the necessary materials. See the materials list above.

2. Add the Floral and Greenery Elements to the Wreath

You’ll want to choose some faux green leaves and fill in the wreath. Use hot glue to secure them to the wreath.

Add hydrangeas to patriotic wreath

Then add the 3 large hydrangea blooms evenly on the wreath and secure with hot glue, if you’d like. Then fill in the rest of the wreath with the 5 blueberry stems. I tucked them under the hydrangeas.

3. Prepare Your Ribbon and Make a Bow

I used this tutorial for making a bow with the two ribbons I had. I simply layered the red ribbon over top of the blue ribbon to make it two-dimensional. The ribbon tails are pretty long, though, because I like that look!

Use the twist ties or zip ties to make the bow and secure the bow to the wreath form.

4. Display your Wreath and Enjoy!

Lastly, it’s time to hang your patriotic wreath and enjoy the fruits of your labor! Hang it on your front door, in your living room, or anywhere else you want to show off your love for your country.
