Farmhouse Spring Decorating Ideas in the Kitchen
My favorite place to get lamb’s ear stems and blooms!
Every year I try to breathe some pretty, pastel life into a few areas of my home. All of my favorite spots to decorate have been fairly plain and simple since I took down my Christmas decor months ago. So by the time spring rolls around I’m ready for a shot of pretty color!
My goal is to add allllllll the faux florals without going overboard, use decor items I already have on hand and buy a few new items to mix it up.

I only changed up a few areas for this season, like the open shelving in the kitchen, the mantel and the dining room. Everything else just looks like it always does. I’m thinking about doing a “spring home tour” on Instagram stories later this week, so you can see how I didn’t deck out all of the areas of my home this year, only a few.
I love finding new ways to use old objects, or figuring out how to use something I had out in the fall, but in a way that totally works with this new season.

The open shelves in the kitchen got a little bit of a new look. I normally leave most everything the same and just add a few new items here and there, but this time I took everything off and started over.
I played around with some different combinations, but in the end the tobacco baskets and large floral arrangement on the top shelf stayed put. I just pulled out the cotton stems from my vase and added in some large faux peonies and pink blooms.

Farmhouse Spring Decorating Ideas in the Dining Room
I went suuuuper simple in the dining room with just my normal naturally woven chargers and my white beaded plates. Lest you think I’m fancier than I really am, those white plates are covered in gray marks and some are starting to chip, so it may be time to replace them soon.
I grabbed some of these gorgeous blue and sage napkins at Hobby Lobby (Similar). The sweet pom pom trim is delicious! I love them paired with these faux hydrangea napkin rings.
And I used the same centerpiece for the table from last year. I made the white wooden box (tutorial here) and pulled it back out this year. It’s just such an easy way to dress up a table without too much fuss. I filled it with faux blooms leftover from last year as well.
So very simple!
And it was fun to add some spring details to my new dining room console table {tutorial here} that I built before Christmas. It feel like a real dining room now and I love the ton of storage space it provides!
I recently added the candle sconces to the sides of my DIY wooden sign and I love that little extra detail!

Very pretty! I’m curious what you decided regarding your living room rug. Also, since you mentioned the gray marks on your white plates, try using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser or Bar Keepers Friend, followed with soap and water.
