Kreg Jig projects are some of my favorites! I just puffy heart love a good, simple DIY project that takes a pile of fairly useless boards and turns them into something beautiful and useful. But even more than that? I love tools that help make those projects easier and simpler.
That’s why I am so thankful that I bought a Kreg Jig when I was setting foot into the great adventurous world of do-it-yourself. This simple pocket hole jig is the best pocket hole joinery tool on the market, is very easy to use and has helped me make a number of useful and pretty projects for my home. I’d say it’s one of the most valuable tools in my garage!

10 Amazing Kreg Jig Projects
This chalk and chalk board eraser holder (tutorial here) is one of my most favorite projects. It’s so simple because it just uses 2 pieces of scrap wood and 2 kreg pocket holes and screws. And it keeps my chalk and eraser right next to my chalkboard for easy access! I love not having to go rummage around in the “junk drawer” or go to the art cabinet if I want to use a piece of chalk! Oh, and it’s cute, too! When form meets function, that’s a win in my book.
Open shelves are all the rage these days and I don’t think they are going anywhere soon. The awesome thing about them is not only are they function and pretty, but they are fairly easy to install! These DIY Floating Wooden Shelves from Shanty 2 Chic are perfect to the beginner DIYer. I love them in the bathroom. And come to think of it, I have the perfect spot for them in my bathroom! #wheelsalwaysturning
This adorable and simple DIY Farmhouse Wood Box is the perfect centerpiece filled with mason jars and flowers. Or you could use it with mason jars for bathroom essential storage or in the kitchen. The possibilities are endless and it’s so easy to make. It’s my favorite simple DIY project this year!
I’ve been wanting to make my own coffee table for years now, so this beautiful DIY Turned Leg Coffee Table from Shanty 2 Chic grabbed my attention right away! Those beautiful logs really are the show stopped and the rest is easy peasy! Although I’m trying to decide if I want to upholster the top of mine… hmmm. Decisions, decisions. But to make a simple coffee table with a simple tool? That’s a no-brainer!
This lovely sign was my very first Large DIY Painted Pallet Sign (tutorial here) and I loved using my Kreg Jig for this project! You are able to truly secure each board side-by-side without the possibility of it shifting over time. It really creates a sturdy joint between each wood piece. I do sometimes put a couple of wooden braces across the back for extra support, but it’s probably not necessary. I’ve since made several pallet board signs and I love them! (P.S. I know there is a misspelled word on the sign. 😜)
How about creating your very own DIY Storage Bench like this one from The House of Wood? I love that it has storage built right in and you’d never even know it. There’s not enough room in my mudroom/hallway of a bench, but I think it would be awesome in my garage, just outside the door. That way we could have a place to sit when putting on our shoes and storage for beach gear or whatever we want to keep in there!
The project that I’m most proud of in my home is my DIY Farmhouse Dining Table. This is the project that actually got me to buy my Kreg Jig. I convinced my husband that the cost of the wood and the tools combined was worth the time and effort it would take to built it. Granted, it was all my time and effort on the table, but he’d have to wrangle the kiddo while I did it. I absolutely am so proud to say that I built my own dining room table. You should try it sometime!
I think a good Pottery Barn knock off is the best of all the worlds! You get the gorgeous, traditional farmhouse look on less than half the budget! This Outdoor Buffet from The Take of an Ugly House is the perfect combination of form and function and it’s a super simple project!
I’ve been wanting to make some $10 Ledge Shelves for probably 5 years now, and I finally put some in my youngest daughter’s nursery. She loves to read and I’m wondering if it’s the shelves and the access she’s had to books her whole life. 😉 I really do think it makes a difference when a child sees books and can grab one whenever. You can also use shelves like these for photos in a gallery wall.
And last, but not least, my DIY Sliding Barn Door that separates my friend’s formal dining room from her kids play room. It add some seriously cute farmhouse and industrial stay and functions as a real door, as well. Would you make one of these?!

Squee!! The timing of this post is so perfect. I just found out yesterday that one of my besties has a kreg jig he bought for a project he then decided not to make. He’s never used it and is eager to do so. Then there’s me, with a list of projects longer than my arm, some of which the jig would help with. And my hubby is too busy with deacon classes to help me the stuff I can’t do on my own (health/mobility issues) so having a friend with equipment and enthusiasm fits well. We are going to have so much fun!!

Hi Laura! Love your post – it’s so inspiring! I too am in a mode of needing things for my home, but, due to some major home expenditures, not being able to rush out and buy what I need. I have never built anything before, but am thinking it’s worth the time to begin the learning. I have a blank kitchen wall that is crying out for a pallet-board sign, preferably one proclaiming the virtues of coffee in the morning. If I jump in and build it, I’ll send you a picture! Jane.

Hi – this is a great line-up of projects. I’ve thought about getting a kreg jig to help with my small projects like wood-slat signs, and I just might bite the bullet!
I just wanted to mention that the slide-show makes it difficult to view the projects. Each time I click for the next page, it takes me to the top and I have to scroll down to find the image. By the tenth time, it’s a little tedious. Not sure if there’s anything you can do about it.
