Gold, Blue and Brown Christmas Tree Decor

Do you love non-traditional Christmas decor? Try this beautiful gold, blue and brown Christmas decor theme for your home this year! Get inspired to create a cozy home for the holidays today!

I’ve been changing up the Christmas decor theme in my home for years now. And while I don’t change everything, I always change the color themes in my living room. I love to look at trending colors or find inspiration in other seasons to create fun new Christmas decor color schemes.

I’ve decorated many years with non-traditional color palettes because I don’t really love to decorate with a lot of red for the holidays. I even wrote a blog post about Christmas color palettes not using red! I will do a pop of red here and there, but despite my usual leanings, last year I went alllllll out with the red.

And if I’m being honest …

I didn’t love it by the end of the season. By December 26, I was so OVER all of the red decor.

Christmas Tree Decor from the Past

Several years ago I did a nostalgic plaid tree, which I loved. It wasn’t too much red, but just the right amount.

So, I’m returning to my favorite blues and greens this year and adding some fun new colors, like camel, brown, caramel and even some orange! I’ll be mixing in my staple golds and whites, too.

Brown is really trending in home decor right now, so what better way to embrace it than to emphasize it in my holiday decor?

I’ll definitely be re-using the white, gold and blue ornaments from that tree I did a few years ago, and add some more!

I’ve already received a few items that I’ve been ordering over the past month. It’s important to shop early when it comes to holiday decor, because items either sell out or jump up in price once it gets closer to the holidays.

I love to share fun ways to decorate a home for the holidays. I’ve showed how to add garland to a staircase, or how to decorate the kitchen for Christmas. This year, I added a new post all about Christmas card holders. I hope these posts inspire you to create a home you love!

Plans for Brown and Blue Christmas Tree Decor

It’s so fun to take elements that I’ve used in the past and add a few new items for a completely different look! Here is the design board for the room. It helps me plan and buy for the space when I see it all together first! (Learn how to create your own design board!)

Without further ado, here is the vision for what I’ll be doing in my living room this Christmas season.

I always focus on the tree decor first and will buy a few new rolls of ribbon and ornaments. I will use the same white and gold ornaments I’ve used for years, but bought some new blue and brown ornaments because I didn’t have many. These beautiful blue ornaments some with brown velvet ribbon and are a beautiful quality!

Once I figure out the color theme, I start looking for the perfect coordinating wrapping paper. I found the some oldies in my stash, but this blue and brown floral wrapping paper will coordinate perfectly!

It’s been so fun to see how it all looks together as I’ve started decorating the tree. I arranged some items together in this compilation below.

I even bought these clip-on candles that are controlled by a remote. I LOVE how they add so much to the tree and can be set on a timer with the remote.

I’ll be back to update this post once I get the living room decorated and photographed! It won’t be too long! 💕

Other Rooms Decorated for Christmas

I don’t plan on changing too many other rooms this year. So, if you want to see my other rooms decorated for Christmas, come and take a look…

  1. Thanks for trying out different colors. There are so many options and tastes. Did you think about pine cones for texture?

    1. Yes, I have many pine cones and I usually add them in after I’ve done everything else. I probably won’t add any to the tree, but I will in other places around the room. 🙂
